What's with the popcorn comments? This is a well mannered discussion on the positives and negatives of the senko. NO one is calling anyone out.... well almost no one. Instead of criticizing the posters, add some useful feedback. This board needs more discussions like this not less.
I dont throw them much at all, but they catch more than dinks. I have a 7 + and several 6's on senkos. I was using them in a totally different way than the norm.
If I think I can catch a decent tourney fish or cull, I'll throw one. Foolish to be anti anything when it comes to fishing.

I did say "have dinks rip through them to catch a hog". I know they catch big fish. I've seen them weighed in. And I know one of your secret senko retrieves

That's like saying " I KNOW how to throw a curveball, therefore I can pitch like a big league player and play professional baseball. Knowing how to (or thinking you do) and actually doing it are two different things. Even for Mr. Awesome!
I also stand by my statement that senkos kill A LOT of bass, more then any other bait out there. Maybe more then all other combined. Its the fact that you are slack line fishing and you almost never feel the bass take the bait, combine that with a high salt content bait and it is a recipe for gut hooking. Guys could reduce mortality if the crushed the barbs on their hooks but almost none do for fear of losing fish.
