I must be doing something wrong because I catch more fish with finesse worms and trick worms than senkos.

Besides how boring it is to fish with a senko. I am not paying 7 bucks a bag to have dinks rip through them with the chance to catch a hog. I threw a frog and a crankbait all day today in less than ideal conditions. I didn't count but caught a bunch of fish. I only had 2-3 dinks (less than 2 pounds). the rest were 2 and up. Quality bites and I still have both of my lures. No dead fish. Not even close.

I'll take 1 3 pounder on a frog over 10 dinks on a senko every day too. I paid about the same for the frog as one bag of senkos and have caught countless fish on it. I paid less for the crankbait.

I dont throw them much at all, but they catch more than dinks. I have a 7 + and several 6's on senkos. I was using them in a totally different way than the norm.

If I think I can catch a decent tourney fish or cull, I'll throw one. Foolish to be anti anything when it comes to fishing.

This might be the truest thing I have read in this forum, need another bag of popcorn............

I dunno, I've caught quite a few 3lb+ bass on wacky rigged senkos, never gut hooked one. Guess I'm just lucky?

What's with the popcorn comments? This is a well mannered discussion on the positives and negatives of the senko. NO one is calling anyone out.... well almost no one. Instead of criticizing the posters, add some useful feedback. This board needs more discussions like this not less.

I did say "have dinks rip through them to catch a hog". I know they catch big fish. I've seen them weighed in. And I know one of your secret senko retrieves

That's like saying " I KNOW how to throw a curveball, therefore I can pitch like a big league player and play professional baseball. Knowing how to (or thinking you do) and actually doing it are two different things. Even for Mr. Awesome!

I meant it more as a threat that I'll reveal to the world as opposed to using it like Kman. As I've said before, I don't use them.

that stuff was done in my shore fishing days. Since having a boat I dont throw them much. Shallow water ponds where they hit them things like crazy, I still dont throw them much. I been having more fun throwing frogs too. With the exception of top water I really dont like shallow water fishing anymore period.

I also stand by my statement that senkos kill A LOT of bass, more then any other bait out there. Maybe more then all other combined. Its the fact that you are slack line fishing and you almost never feel the bass take the bait, combine that with a high salt content bait and it is a recipe for gut hooking. Guys could reduce mortality if the crushed the barbs on their hooks but almost none do for fear of losing fish.

I agree with most of Rich's points (but cooler T's kill alot of bass as well) I thought they had a fish kill at the Agawam last year.

Senko fishing is too easy. My 10 year old son tosses one out and catches bass after bass after bass. Senkos will get you in the money more times than not....jigs will get you first place!

But its what ever floats your boat....

Tight lines!

That would be incorrect. I personally fished 3 car topopers at agawam last year. 1 maff and 2 others. I did release a fish that, while it was still alive AND swam away, I have my doubts whether it survived or not. That had nothing to do with the fact that it was in a 70qt cooler. I hooked the fish solidly in the top lip, no blood and the fish started to struggle right away in the cooler. It was our 1st fish of the day so there was no crowding. Other then that 1 fish no one else had fish dead or dying. Since I have run the car toppers we have had less then 5 dead fish in close to 20 tournaments, A less then .5% (point five) mortality rate. I'll put that up against any Big boat tournament trail.

popcorn comment was that I am going to continue to read these posts, I throw whatever is working, cranks, jigs, spinnerbaits and worms. You just have to find the pattern what is working thats why they call it fishing not catching.
