question about navionics...if i buy that app. for my droid, it will have all of the major lake maps that i can pull up with satellite GPS overlay and the ability to mark waypoints??

Sam as far as I can tell the answer is yes. Check out their site. http://www.navionics.com/en/mobile-pc-app

sweet im currently using this free GPS app i found to mark way points but obviously there's no overlay. im checking the app. out in the android store. i might get it if it's as good as it seems to be.

Sam that should do what you want.. One thing I will say is that the GPS is not nearly as accurate as a built in GPS in a unit. The cellular one is close, but you still might be +/- 20-30 feet from actual location.

I have a 2 year old HDS 5 that I would unload for $400, without transducer.

Edit: Actually, I have a ducer and ducer saver that I can throw in with it...

This is from the FAQ section for android phones. It's the only mention of transferring to an SD that I noticed.

Q. Can the Navionics App be moved to the SD?
A. No, the Navionics App can not be moved to the SD of the device.

Yea I seen that but I also found the instructions on how to download the app to a computer then transfer it to a SD card so it can work on the graph. Im going to try to remove the app from my phone to the computer and see what happens

They probably use different file types that aren't compatible so you have to get different versions
