I cant rember did i order T shirts or rain gear?? I have a question for all you veterans of the tourneys. is it against the rules to hav 3 lines in with only 2 anglers on board. my #2 guy is allways dubble dipping.. sneeking a trolling line out on me while hes working a second rod. Its ok as long as its with me alone. cause i will just divide by 2. if this is aganst the rules iLL let him know and it wont be an issue. hes honest and in it for the fun thanks guys cu in the am

Every bass tourney that I know of doesn't allow trolling. They also state only one line in the water per angler.
Smoke and Johnny will clarify the rules in the a.m.

What's this cancel talk because of a little rain?
Smoke, you might have to put in an order for some skirts!!!
hahahahahaha

Get some sleep guys while I hold down the fort.
See you all in the a.m.

Good Luck to all of you guys. Hope the weather isn't as bad as they say. I have to work tomorrow but I'd much rather be fishin' in the rain

First off let me start by saying sorry to everyone. I went out last night and over served my self. i have never done that let alone the night before a tourney. poor ed fished while i slept in his truck, lol

also when we were taking off someone absolutley gunned it out of the gate almost swamping napa and his canoe.
guys we can not tolerate it at all, not safe and not fair.
i will say it was an oversight and not done on purpose, but we must watch out when taking off. thank you
sorry napa i commend the arrogance of doing these from a canoe, takes balls bro!
and you have em.

also bang up job on the t-shirts Justin they rule!

i look forward to seeing who won today!

Thanks Johnny

It truley was unimaginable that this team GUNNED it while right next to our CANOE!! It not only nearly tipped us and cost us thousands in gear, but it SLAMMED our boat with waves that SOAKED us and everything in our canoe. We legit had to spend 30minutes scooping water out so we didnt sink. All of our dry clothes, our gear, and our food were ruined..completely soaked. Our feet were underwater too. It completely ruined our tournament. The weather was bad enough, we didnt need to be soaked by a title wave before the damn thing even started. We basically had friggin frostbite by 8 30...it cut our tourney short because we were soaking wet and freezing and understandably pissed off.

It really was beyond enraging that someone is so unaware or didnt care about us car toppers, that they nearly tipped us, just to get to a spot quicker???

It certainly takes a set of balls to still do these in a canoe, but thats how we roll, and the last thing we expected was to be steam rolled by a big boat.

We are arrogant, but even we couldnt overcome that shiit show of a start.

WE ALL SHARE THE LAKE...PLEASE BE AWARE AND SLOW DOWN WHEN YOU SEE A LITTLE RED CANOE OR ANY OTHER CAR TOPPER!!!!

-Napa (still very heated about this)

oh and now offically FORMER MAFF CHAMPS, haha Nice work LandLords...11lbs, you animals! Congrats to everyone else who placed. What a raw day.

Despite the wonderful sunny 70 degree weather we had today. It was great meeting everyone! See everyone in 2 weeks.

napa sorry to hear about the swamping that definitely make hard day even harder. I am sure you will hit'em hard at billington.

Justin and Johnny another great job, even though the weather sckd at least we got to fish and some of us even found the fish. Mark and Chuck nice bag. Napa sorry to hear about the swamping I'm sure it was just the excitement of the first tournament.

MAFF i would like to suggest that all car toppers( non gas powered) are allowed to blast of 5 to 10 mins. before the rest of the field this will give them time to get a safe distance away from the rest of the field and greatly reduce the chance of anyone getting swapped.

What do you guys think about adding one more tournament rule? Another option could be to eliminate the shot gun blast off and draw numbers and blast off according to the number drawn?

Car toppers are part of MAFF , we have all been there and some of us are going to be leaving our bass boats at home and competing in the car top tournaments.

We need to keep everyone is safe !!

HOW ABOUT CARTOPPERS LAUNCH FIRST AND START FIRST IN BIG BOAT TOURNEYS. AND CARTOPPER TOURNEYS NO GAS MOTORS ONLY TO RETURN TO WEIGH INS!!!!! SOME OF THE CARTOPPERS BY STATE LAW ARE TROLLING ONLY I KNOW WINTHROP IS 1 OF THEM

Posted Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:56 am

There are too many big boats this year to safely let everyone take off at the same time. Another suggestion would to have all boats leave the launch area under electric power only for the first 5 minutes after the official start. That should give everyone enough time to safely disperse.
