Did we all agree that for this year, if you place in a tourney, you automatically get a spot in the next tourney or at least first right of refusal?

I think we are gonna go by average. The team with heaviest lunker and heaviest bag for the year get bye's and we will take the top 13 teams with at least 6 to 8 tourneys to qualify. But i also think in case of a tie the team with more tourneys entered gets in and if that is also the same the team that places over a team that doesn't or places higher gets in .

Sound good to everyone pretty simple if you get in great if not always something to strive for in 2012 right!!!!!

sorry i don't like it, if i can't make a few tourneys i shouldn't be left out.
i say first come first serve man.

I just think that if you pace, you deserve and have earned to be in the next tourney automatically.

You're only talking about 3 spots. The remaining 15 (because Smoke & Johnny automatically get in, that goes without saying) are still up for grabs. If you are one of the 3 placing teams, you have until say 3 days before to back out if you can't make the next tourney. In most cases, you'll know way more than 3 days in advance if you're not going to be able to make it. That gives enough time to find a replacement. With so many teams waiting in the wings, that should not be an issue. You're only talking about 3 spots! As far as averages, if you're constantly placing, you're gonna be there anyway. I'm talking the tourneys during the year, not at the end. Although I think using this method would settle that too!

Just an idea that I feel is pretty fair and will average out overall.

Have you guys honestly had to turn people away from tourney yet?

I personally haven't been in one yet, but I would like to do some of the car toppers this year. First come, first serve seems to work for everything else in this world, so I don't see why it shouldn't apply here. People serious about fishing the tourney's will be looking on the site when it is posted so they can make sure they sign up.

I can understand for the final team vs. team, or whatever you got cooking, I feel that should be based upon number of teams.

I think if you place in this tourney you are automatically put into the next tourney...and we should do that throughout the season. Either way I got SMOKE on speed dial!

i vote for first come first serve. fairest way to do things and i think we agreed to this at the end of last year after this whole thing came up especially after all of the new interest. also, if someone places but can't make the next one, it's just taking up a space until that team let's someone know.
