I'm definitely down with planning a few more for the season and hope some others do too! We can figure this one out easy enough! Personally I'm gonna do some looking into local or semi-local lakes and ponds and see the permit requirements and what not. Stay tuned!

Paddle only? No peddles? I was hoping to enter one of these in my PA12 since certain 'experts' didn't like the live well for a cartopper I held out for the kayak tourney.

That an awesome kayak! Seen em on Hank Parker outdoors.

I might be in, but I need to clear it with the ol' ball 'n chain first.

Are kayaks allowed to be used in the cartopper tournaments? Or are they a whole different animal all together?

Posted Mon Jul 16, 2012 12:52 pm

yeah different animal.
the toppers have enough room for an adequate live well.
so that's why were doing the digital weigh in with the time stamped photos.

I realize this is new.But I'd recommend a full view pic of scale and fish.
Not that anyone would pull on the tail Cool .

The problem is that you need gorilla arms to get enough distance for the entire fish and scale to be in frame. And then you wouldn't be able to read the scale.

Logically, if you have only two arms then you can assume that one is holding the scale and the other is taking the picture. Lord knows what body part you could use to pull the tail!

So I propose that only anglers with two or less arms be allowed to compete. Very Happy

Another issue is that many newer cameras don't time stamp their photos. For example, my waterproof Fuji XP10 can't do it. But all cameras do record the date and time in their data file.

Anyway, I need to solve this problem before the tournament. I might have to use my phone
