Where is the open water?

I went to Bass Pro today, then went to the boat and got all of our tackle box's. Went through all of them add our new product took out all the old stuff that never worked. Any open water down south near cape opened up yet? This is KILLN me!

A few new rattle traps, crank baits but I got something I never have used before........Tube Darts, Super Hog Bullfrog looks like lizard part frog,Wooly Bug, Brush Hog all plastics. I am guessn you'd fish these like a Texas rig???? Any Ideas?

you can fish those creature style baits in a lot of different ways...texas rig, carolina, pitch / flip them. the brush hog is great.

I know its not really close to the cape but significant portions of the Merrimack River are thawed. Another week or two and I'll be out there with my new rods.

I checked on the Concord River today and its still very frozen... very soon though it'll be ready!

do you fish them like a jig?



you can throw them on as jig trailers but the most common technique is pitching them into cover...texas rig it with a bullet weight. or just slow drag it on the bottom. those are pretty common methods

no clue where the open water is...but i need to find it soon.

I went down the cape for work today. Several Ponds are open. I stopped by the Mashpee-Wakeby ramp and the lake was 75% open. Agawam River in wareham is also about 75% open. I think the whole cape will be open by the weekend!!!!

Mystic River is open below the lower lake...not sure how far down its open. Could definitely shore fish in the Medford/Arlington section.
