Pretty interesting that a 10+ came out of Mary's Pond recently though; my old work owns that land and I've fished it a lot, did not think it could support that large of a fish.

Looking over the data, it seems April/May (Prespawn) is the accepted big fish time but my favorites, July and August are right behind as peak big fish time:

Loves me the dog days of summer. Or perhaps "Hawg" days of summer. Laughing

The lsit has not been updated since 2007 I believe. If I remember correctly a 10+ took the award 2 maybe 3 years ago, The other 2 years it was close but they were 9 + lbers

I have a list of all the LM from 1963-2013 and from 2007-2013 + only 3 over 10lb.
10.2 ...2009
10 ......2012
10.5....2012

C+R a 9.1 in 2007 and dream about a 10lb LM Shocked but any year with 3 or 4 over 7 is a good year in my book.

I'm still trying to break the 8lb mark. Sad
