Mass Big Bass list

Here is a list of all the certified 10lb + bass caught in Mass up till 2007 I believe. If you click on the image it gets a bit bigger and clearer

It just goes to show you how rare a 10lb bass in Mass is. Even if you double the list to take into account for people who don't certify their catch, you are talking less then 1 a year in all of mass by everyone fishing.

So three of the fish are from Samson Pond or Muddy Pond in Carver, including the top 2. Why aren't we all just fishing in Carver?

I would not pay too much attention to exact location. Look at it more generally. Sampsons is in the Carver/plymouth/wareham area. Go fish ponds in that area.

Some intersting things I get from that list. 8 of the fish were caught in prespawn. Most likely loaded up with eggs. The one fish I would really like to see a pic of is the 11lb 2 oz fish caught in Aug. That fish could be 13lbs if caught in the spring, although there is something wrong with the girth measurement of that fish

Stevens pond in North Andover is not very big. I guess I have to check it out, I have fished cochichewick right next to it and that place is loaded with monsters.
