My idea of changing the settings was increasing sensitivity in clear water. LOL I just have a cheap one I used for depth and temp. I wanna have a better weapon. I remembered you saying you'd rather have a Lowrance Sam and that helped me narrow it down

I just looked at the elite 4 . Thats a nice unit, yes I said nice unit, for $200. Perfect quality unit in a compact size. Made for cartoppers and smaller boats IMO. Here it is on TW for those interested. Good find Shawn!!!

For $350 you can get the Elite 4 DSI with mapping. If you contact those guys that bangbang recommended, they can beat that price for sure.

I'd be willing to part with my HDS 5 for $400. Just throwing it out there.

great work once again. i would've gone with that wider boat but weight was an issue. shawn, is that DSI only? it doesn't look bad, just a little small. but if you won't be fishing deep water and using it to get on top of fish, you should be fine. smoke, they cost way too much. you can find it for under $500 but then the quick release bracket is about $50.

damon, any chance you could build a simple dolly like this?

That's a pretty cool design!
