Damon read that and already built you something with stuff he "just had laying around".

Smart move Sam. Anything else you need?

Rudder also doesnt have to be on the back... but it would work better. (easier to turn)

LOL no it didn't really happen. But that wouldn't surprise me coming from Damon. He strikes me as one of those guys that is prepared for anything

Funny enough I had read it and after seeing Stratos post and Jbiguns went and rooted around in the shop.... I have the same paddle Joe pictured... We have a perfectly good mount here not being used on Sams old motor... Just depends if he wants to use it!! If not I'm sure I have a couple options!!

See?

ha yup. the thing...do I want to use it? i have enough oars but it will be easier to sell the motor with the bracket. i may just suck it up and buy a bracket to make things easier.

Here's what I came up with for a rudder. It does the job.

evan, i still have that picture saved. i'm hoping to avoid having to pack something extra. if i can use 1 of the 2 oars i'd already be bringing it would be perfect. just attach the bracket on and clamp the oar in. if i can't figure something simple out, i was planning on building one like yours.

Sam I fish my 15 with a rudder all the time, I think its because I have some weight towards the transom, Rich asked me along time ago why I don't have a rudder...I just never have and never had an issue. Maybe its because my ship weighs a ton!

Kevin doesn't have a rudder either and I never really noticed any problems but like you said, It weighs a ton. That's gotta be it.

yeah it is. i've been in a 10 and when the wind picks up it can be brutal. if the weight isn't distributed evenly you starting veering off to a side even without wind.

Question for you guys. Curious to hear what you think. My livewell on my bass boat is way too small to hold a good 5 fish limit let alone a 8-10 fish limit. I have used a 100qt cooler livewell plus the rear livewell in the past.

I'm thinking about adding a custom livewell with two compartments. Just like most big boats have.

Two places I could put it. I think the best bet would be where the seats are and then put seats on top of the livewell. Or remove existing livewell and use that big back space. This would probably be very difficult and I would lose the storage compartments.

I like this site that Neil recommended.

I can't put it up front because it would be too much weight up there and I'm adding a deck extension.
