jbigun, if I were you, I would use the back where it is now and make the custom. I would also rethink the design on your front deck, and put the storage you are losing there..

We thought about that but it would have created a lot of extra work to create the lids and carpeting them for not much reward. Plus you can't really tell from the pictures but there were all different angles up there which made everything difficult and a slight downward slope. Instead I can just slide stuff under the deck extension. I'm going to have a plastic storage container that I can fill with whatever and slide in and out.

I like the thought of the end result of the custom livewell where the original livewell is but I'm no sure how I would remove it and whatnot. Have to take a closer look this weekend.

Why not just make the whole lid open? You could then use the whole area for storage.

Extra work? C'mon Smile That's half the fun.

I asked about the rear livewells not storage Very Happy

The whole area under the front deck can be used for storage. I don't really need much storage anyways, I don't leave much of anything in the boat. I'm happy with the front as is.

I know you did, but losing storage on a boat sucks.

You're gonna need a bigger boat

back to the crawdad...how easy is it to pick up and transport? if it isn't, how about adding handles?

Posted Fri Jan 11, 2013 1:20 pm

Mine has handles built in. But, with floor I added its now kinda heavy for one person to lift.

The 2011 tourney trail at Dudley pond. I made a 2 wheeled cart & strapped it to boat. It would have worked, except my build sucked & it fell apart. Was looking to use it when I fished ponds/lakes that didn't have a boat launch.

i have these extra stern handles that may be useful. they can be attached anywhere with a flat surface.

A crawdad comes with 2 sets of handles front and back. Very easy to transport when stripped down. yes I said stripped down!!!
