We have the same problem as you do. We see people fishing illegally, leaving a mess or see the aftermath that's left behind. Most of us here end up cleaning up other people's messes at the ponds that we fish. The type of language and attitude that you describe is inexcusable but the men and women of this forum are about the fishing and respecting the outdoors. We're not the enemy.

It should be easy to see that by reading the beginning of this thread. The person wanted to find the legal way to enter and fish.

As far as syringes go I think it's safe to say that problem is local and entirely unrelated to fishing.

Good luck sir. I hope in the future that you don't lump all fishermen and women into the same group of no good littering, foul mouthed junkies as I do not lump all lakeside property owners into the act like they own the lake group. Like I said before. We are fighting the same battle.

I in no way speak for or claim to speak for Maff or any of its members. This is just my opinion and based on my own experience.

Well when people have been having the problems keeping property clean so grandkids dont keep cutting their feet and a 2 year old comes walking up with a syringe in their hand that is sick. Ane to be fighting this battle and have fishermen say to you "go suck some ni77er co86 you fucking fa77ot" to a question of did the person read the no tresspassing signs and have others walk their dogs to crap on the ground more stuff for the kids to get into and thise people think it being private property as being a joke like I said gets old fast then for you to leave a comment of "CRICKETS" tells me you think its a joke and could care less, why else leave a "CRICKETS" comment like no one gives a f*&^.
Well we do and if you dont even fish there then why even comment on whats goes on there. And as far as posting here my hope was maybe just maybe the real fishermen who are posting here if they did go to Robbins Pond maybe they would say something to the morons who are making problems for all the people who wany to use the pond respectfully. There are sensitive native American areas here that are not to be disturbed that go back 18,000 years and people dig ,4-wheel tearing up the sites that are not suppose to be touched.Good thing is the new entrence to the pond is being used, after I cleared the path that I didnt have to do and getting poision ivy in the process. So if you dont want a negative coment coming your way then please dont leave one.

So are you the syringes, bottles or human s*** and I bet you still live at mom and dads.

-------------------------
I've actually never been or even know where Robins is. After the first two posts of no responses I would of thought you would of got the picture that no one here is arguing with you about the law, just trying to get it straightened out respectfully. 99.9% of the people on this site are respectful considerate anglers that agree that locations like this are a tragedy. You are preaching to the choir and have some misplaced ideas about what this community is about. Hang around for a little and understand what this community is about before spouting off like an ignorant a-hole.

As it was shown throughout the post no one is fighting you on this, just looking for solutions however your posts are directed at us as if we are the problem which is not appreciated. It is unfortunate that there are people in the area that would talk to anyone that way or disrespect the land as you have outlined but you've got the wrong group.

THANK YOU Sir for understanding what we deal with.Yes you are 100% correct in that NOT ALL people fishing are jerks, just some and we do not lump all together. We have many good people that come to fish and we say nothing because we know their past habits of respecting the land.It also goes beyond the fishing because of the developement which we had no part of but had the chance to buy land to help protect it since we already own the Island and yes the syringe issue is local and know where they come from.We just want to see people fishing enjoying the pond and not have to clean up after them.I do wish the game warden would show up to help the issues though, then he can go away.

Posted Tue Jul 02, 2013 10:29 am

Game wardens aren't going to solve the junkie problem local PD .... fishing is not a crime .

Posted Tue Jul 02, 2013 11:14 am

This issue is happening everywhere. The problem is that the residents blame the fisherman. The fisherman think the residents are being unfair.

Most of the bad apples are not legal fisherman and they have no respect for the land , landowners, or anything else for that matter. The bad apples need to be addressed.

It's a problem for all of us,even if we don't fish this body of water. It's a matter of time when it comes to your favorite fishing hole...

Not to mention fisherman get blamed for beer cans and stuff when the majority of pond litter comes from the landowners kids partying in the woods

Posted Tue Jul 02, 2013 12:01 pm

Not sure I buy into that argument about the kids. I think the partying and the fishing go hand-in-hand, but we're talking about after dark shenanigans by people who are of a lower socioeconomic stratum, possibly drug users, probably unlicensed, who definitely don't care about the mess they leave for the rest of us to clean up because their lives are sh** to begin with. It's a symptom of a larger social issue. In the meantime the only solution is to make it more difficult for them to access this location, which means they move their activity to another location.

I just asked the question about the signs at Robbins to see if it was true that we werent supposed to use the ramp anymore.. didnt mean to start a war.. I am one of the good guys who bags up other peoples trash and takes it with me.. I am a home and land owner and would not want people trashing my land or harming my wildlife.. I will fish elsewhere, I just like that pond NBD..

Yes,I have chased some drug users away at 2AM before and yes we have seen from binoculars 2 people fishing in a jon boat throw empty beer bottles on shore of the island and yes I just came back from the pond to see why campers were out on the island with out permission and yes people are starting to use the path I started which if people knew the laws they whould have done this themselfs instead of calling the town and causing undue stress for the builder and land owners because the 2010 deed is what it is so why people got the cops and town to try and change something written in stone by law is beyound pale.People wanting the town to change someones deed because they want to use your land.Because people wanted boat access across private property, sick.Add the bull from the uncrowd just adds. For the many I met and all good people wanting to fish in peace,Thanks for understanding.

Posted Tue Jul 02, 2013 7:46 pm

Nope we dont lump all together.I have met many nice people wanting to fish. All it would have taken was for someone to see what the laws of fishing Great Ponds are and look around to see the old path, but it went beyond that because some wanted to drive their trucks, trailers etc across private property to get their boats in the water when the town/state launch area is clearly marked right next to the private property area, but the private property spot is nicer so everyone wanted to use it to the point of a town meeting trying to change peoples deeds which is totally illegal and immoral. Its not North Korea,I thought.Once the word laywers was said the town backed down.Add all the other crap.Oh and the Saturaday morning meeting with the Con Com because someone complained but we were well whithin our rights and can do even more than we thought in cleaning up the property he saw some interesting actions of some people, perfect timing and the meeting went good for us.Thanks.

My comments are not directed at any one here, when did I ever mention one name, never.I only posted because of the subject and I am involved as one of the property owners.Just using this forum to try and talk to people about the issue. And I dont go around spending hundreds of thousands to buy land so I can bust peoples nuts.

Fished Robbins this morning. Got around 10 bass, biggest around 2lb, a few picks and a couple of crappie. Missed plenty of fish due to the wind blowing the yak around. Got bit off a couple of times also. Plenty of action! Notice how this guy chimed in on the post and then disappeared! Rolling Eyes
