you can go online and find who owns which pieces of land. All you need is the address. Or do it manually by going to the town hall and looking at the assesors map. I do this all the time when exploring new hunting areas. I have found on several occasions, people seem to think they own land that doesnt belong to them !!!

Been there done that.. the parking lot across the street is owned by Mass Fish and Wildlife.. which I love... but the plot across the street with the address I got from Zillow as 475 Pond has not assessors info on it. I guess I'll just wait and see.. I dont like in Bridgewater so wont be doing the town hall visit.. I'll just wait I can still get in there it's just getting hard with the weeds taking over my loading area.. I'll let everyone know what I find out..

This isn't that big of a deal Exclamation The pond is still open to the public. You now have to launch to the left of the outflow. It is just extra work having to now lug things across the street. Not bad for canoes and kayaks but would be a pain for jon boats and crawdads Exclamation

Last week when I was there I watched a guy pull off to the side of the road, unload his crawdad and then parked his truck in the lot. Like I said, extra work, but it is what it is Exclamation

The Robbins Pond Park that was owned by the church and Evelyn before that was bought a few years ago for a lot of money and the land is being sold to 25 families/house lots and they are now the ownwers paying the taxes, libilities so is now privately owned by said families and after all the vandalism the trash, condoms, syringes, fecal matter w/toilet paper, smashed TV's spraypainting on the trees, about 10 fires this year alone, yard waste, bags of kitty litter, yard waste, smashing of property, total disrespect for the land,20-30 fully loated diapers, bait containers, cans, bottles cigarett butts, garbage and its goes on and on.So when the owners want to use the land they paid hundreds of thousands for and thousands more in taxes each year they want it kept clean and with it open the problems never end.Blame the people who trash the place.Car tires are being dumped at the state parking lot, trash,TV's and wouldnt doubt the state will not put up with that being trashed.Preserving the land from vandals and making it accessable to the new owners thats all they are trying to do.East Bridgewater police know its private property and enforce it.Its been in the news for several years so it should not be such a surprise. All the rules, conditions have been available for years at the town hall.I have talked to lots of people down there and the guy who owns the island said that has the same problem with vandles and the owners were making the island accessable to everyone with seating, water, trash can, picnic table, etc. but people steal and smash everything so people are not welcome out there right now till it gets resolved i have been told. There are other public access spots on the pond just people that live next to them keep people away from the public access spots. The restraunt is private also. The dike/stump pond was blocked because of the trash,TV's and vandlism.I have lived near the pond for many many years and have seen the changes with the farm land etc.Progress???for some I guess.Just buy a lot and get access I guess.

I agree with stopping people from dumping and making a mess, thats why the bog side was closed.. i get that, I bring a trash bag with me everytime i go fishing to pick up other peoples trash. I dont get why they closed the public ramp on Pond st.. i rarely saw trash there and the parking lot across the street is owned my MA fish and wildlife.. I assume they will put in a use-able ramp.. I can still fish there so it's not a huge deal.. just aggravating..

The Pond street boat ramp/beach was never and still is not public property.its private property that people paid over 2 million dollars for and has been private property since before the Walshendorfs bought it in the laste 1800's.From the bridge to the new street is assn. land.Public land is from the other side of the bridge to the first cement wall. The private beach is clean now because its off limits and being kept clean and people are still leaving trash there even after the signs etc so that tells you some dont care one bit.The public beach area past the bridge is always a mess until either one of 2 families clean it up.A dad and his 2 sons and another couple. The public parking lot had 6 old tires dumped there last year and there are 20 so far this year.Last year the trash can that was supplied at the private beach always ran over even while emptying it because people even used it to clean out their cars, boats etc.,kids kicked it over many times and people still did stuff like throw fullyloaded diapers in the bushes. About twenty five diapers since last fall. Now thats its owned by the assn. they have the liability and thats why the town mandated that it the beach area be blocked off from the public except for emergency access by fire and police. Its all information available on line and has been for a few years while this was being discussed at the town meetings.People need to call the town hall and find out where the old fire roads and public access areas are and use those. There are and always have been areas at the end of some of the streets. The assn. members have to pay the taxes and keep it kept up so they all get to use it and if they own it,pay the taxes then they should be able to have their kids, grandkids on the beach and not worry about syringes, used condoms, broken bottles, trash, cig butts, human crap and toilet paper etc. and having some people that are a bit liquored up backing boats up while their families are having their get togethers on the beach.People just need to buy a lot pay the taxes then they get access

As far as a ramp on the public area if you read the signs in the parking lot and on the Mass wildlife websites and the town website they all say its for
"cartop boats only" anyway. That has to be changed before anyone can think about putting a ramp in there. My guess the state wildlife cops could stop people from backing trailers up and most likely trucks also there.I know the restraunt access is in question right now because of abbutters and the restraunt mayt be opening so parking fishing ect will be questionable while the restraunt is operating. But there are other access spots.I do think I will check into the situation since I have lived in the area for many years and I will post here the information I find.

The final word was said by the town of East Bridgewater per the 2010 Documents filed at the Registry of Deeds in that the land of the old park is PRIVATE PROPERTY from the river to past the street entrance and there is to be NO tresspassing by foot across the beach area and there is to be NO tresspassing through the subdivision to reach the pond.People fishing must use the rules and laws in place to access the useable areas of the pond . NO VEHICLE traffic across the beach area by the general puplic what so ever except for emergency access by town departments.Signs will be rearranged to satisfy the documents filed in 2010. The Preseration Restriction Agreement is a legal document and states the rules for the land use there. So Please respect the fact that all this was in place for 3 years well before some people bought land there and don't want to see the land trashed anymore. Please respect the laws in place ALL LAWS of fishing so anyone wanting to use the pond to fish needs to stop the trashing and disrespect because people legally own land there like some people here own their own land and would not want syringes, condoms, broken bottles, trash of all kinds, human feces, yard waste, used cat litter, you name it placed on your property at a constant pace. The past 12,000 years of people to use this land would be upset with the disrespect this land gets from some people. Some pay big taxes to own land and more to maintain the land and then have to clean up after others who are welcome to use the pond with respect gets old fast. And the 12 or so beer bottles thrown on the shore of the Island lately ths is why there is so much broken glass in the pond to cut the feet of swimmers etc.,from these jackasses... bmwntpond

So are you the syringes, bottles or human s*** and I bet you still live at mom and dads.

I've actually never been or even know where Robins is. After the first two posts of no responses I would of thought you would of got the picture that no one here is arguing with you about the law, just trying to get it straightened out respectfully. 99.9% of the people on this site are respectful considerate anglers that agree that locations like this are a tradgedy. You are preaching to the choir and have some misplaced ideas about what this community is about. Hang around for a little and understand what this community is about before spouting off like an ignorant a-hole.

Well, you did liken him to an "ignorant a-hole" so that kinda started the downhill slide, but the rest of your message is respectfully written. The saddest part about this whole thing is that a handful of cretins have forced a confrontation between two groups who essentially want the same thing, a clean safe place to recreate.

Well when people have been having the problems keeping property clean so grandkids dont keep cutting their feet and a 2 year old comes walking up with a syringe in their hand that is sick. Ane to be fighting this battle and have fishermen say to you "go suck some ni77er co86 you fucking fa77ot" to a question of did the person read the no tresspassing signs and have others walk their dogs to crap on the ground more stuff for the kids to get into and thise people think it being private property as being a joke like I said gets old fast then for you to leave a comment of "CRICKETS" tells me you think its a joke and could care less, why else leave a "CRICKETS" comment like no one gives a f*&^.
Well we do and if you dont even fish there then why even comment on whats goes on there. And as far as posting here my hope was maybe just maybe the real fishermen who are posting here if they did go to Robbins Pond maybe they would say something to the morons who are making problems for all the people who wany to use the pond respectfully. There are sensitive native American areas here that are not to be disturbed that go back 18,000 years and people dig ,4-wheel tearing up the sites that are not suppose to be touched.Good thing is the new entrence to the pond is being used, after I cleared the path that I didnt have to do and getting poision ivy in the process. So if you dont want a negative coment coming your way then please dont leave one.
