mikey give me call bro 1-781-856-0636
Any suggestions or questions please call me guys.
I know I'm kind of grabbing the bull by the horns here, and just running with em. But I would love to hear ideas or concerns.
Any objections to $20 a head or should we stick with $10?

I'll go to $20 if everyone else is game, but I dont care either way. Call you in a few Johnny.

Guys, Johnny just pointed out that you are setting up the first annual MA Fish Finder tourney..Great Stuff!! I'm checking my schedule to see if i can make that weekend (I might be in NJ/PA), but well see...either way, not to go back on an earlier promise from last year, the following still stands:

"I will throw in $100 gift card to the winning team (Bass Pro Shop, Cabellas, Orvis, or LLBean...winners choice. I know you have a great Bass Pro Shop up there so that will probably be the prefered award). I will also give $50 lunker award to the winner. "

Good luck everyone!! I'm looking forward to this becoming a regular event...MA Fish Finder is showing us up down here in CT

Ok, i'm working on a permit for the tourney. it is a five dollar per car fee to enter and park. a couple of prizes some good grub to be delivered when we get back, its coming together boys ( i think ), lol

i'm trying.

It would be great if this comes together. I'm hoping I can get the tiny little jon boat ready in time for it.

I'm also more on the $10 side of things. Cochit is pretty damn big, which offers an advantage to those with a larger boat. I'd rather focus on the social part and not worry about the money I know I'll be losing =)

Micheal, I'm with ya. thats the last thing i want is for this to be all about the tourney, i want to meet some new people have a few laughs and enjoy the day. it will be $10 a head for sure. after the boat fee the gas the food whatever it all adds up and i know i don't have it to through around, lol.

I will be putting an e-mail out within the next couple of days for people to respond to, so i can put a head count together.

as far as cochituate beng big, not all boats have to launch from the dock. smaler boats can drive right to a different part of the lake and launch, but just have to be back in time for the end.
i'll be putting out a lengthy e-mail shortly.

hey Johhny, i know you are busting your ass, trying to organize this, it is about the fun & fishing not the money!!! 10 or 20 aint gonna break anybodys bank acct., everybody should chip in a little for the food afterwards, you talked about having some chow delivered after the fishing!!!!! keep up the good work johhny, we are fishing lake boone on sunday!!!!!!!

see ya Brian

I hear ya'. That's all I got is a 10 ft. john-boat. Too me though, I'll be learning from anglers that have more knowledge than I, and have better, more expensive equipment than I.

Hopefully, someday, it will be me that has the nice boat. Until that time, I'll work hard, save my pennys, and keep on learning.

i'm thinking of having a live weigh in, what do you guys think. i ran into a small group of guys having a little tourney this morning with all canoes and small boats, they were using stringers and traps, i guess there small cage like contraptions that they tied to there boats. we don't have an actual weigh in scale with a basket to weigh all at once, but we could weigh one at a time and add em up.

what do you guys think?

and it will be $10 bucks a head, and $5 to get into cochituate. so you need to bring $15 bucks. plus $10 if you can swing it for the grub afterwards.
so $25 bucks for the day isn't bad i think.

I have tried to come up with a few extra boats for people, but i'm not having much luck. there all full. there is a rental place where you can get a cheap canoe right at the rte 30 exit off of 128, rte 30 is the road that the lake is on. so if need be i can get some of you guys some rental info(i know there cheap) if need be.

Please e-mail me at jmahlman@comcast.net and let me know if your comming for sure.
i need to know how many people are coming so i can get the ball rolling.

6-14-09 rte 30 natick ma. lake cochituate 6:00 a.m arrival time
we'll check in and fish at 7:00
back to the dock at 1:00 for weigh in and some grub.
lets check our calenders and make this happen guys, should be a good time. e-mail me soon please.
thank you
