Just kind of curious as to what lures you guys are throwing and what's been working and what hasn't.

Personally I've only caught fish on 3 lures thus far: whacky rigged senko, a lipless crank, and a white spinner. The crank has been the best of the three by far.

Nothing on jerks, jigs, spoons, or even texas rigged worms. I spent 2 hours out in the canoe yesterday and only managed one small bass.

My only trip out all the fish were caught on jerkbaits cranks and the jig.

The fish will decide what they when and when. I've been out a handful of times so far and have caught them on different things each day. I've gotten them on squarebill cranks (one color worked one day and another day a different color did), jerkbaits, lipless cranks and jigs.

it all depends on the place, weather, water temperature etc.

keep trying different things that cover different areas of the water column. and if slow isn't working, try speeding it up.

they can bunch up this time of year and have you second guessing your techniques when it's really that they're just not there.

I have been having moderate success swimming 3 inch grubs and white spinnerbait. No luck so far with rubber worms or any hard baits.9

Texas and wacky finesse worms for me.
Nothing on ANYTHING ELSE!

Finding that the small ponds are more active then the larger lakes.
Might be that I don't have a boat and can find them easier though.

I haven't been able to even buy a bite on a jig for like 4 weeks straight now. No idea why Confused

Lipless cranks / Rat L Traps and large jerkbaits have been the only things working for me this spring; the best has been huge saltwater Rapala X-Rap 14s in glass ghost and a reflective shad color.

Grabbed a few ZMan chatterbaits because I heard so much about them, and I really like the action and look they have in the water, but they have produced nothing yet.

Smaller ponds also warm up faster.

I have had luck with chatterbaits and spinnerbaits white/chartreuse colors slow rolled on the bottom or just above the bottom. Jerkbait bite has been ok in yellow perch and American shad colors.

Keep at em man they catch BIG fish! Try different retrieves other than your standard chuck and wind. Ill like to treat my like a jig with the additional rip off the bottom

Jerkbaits,squarebill crankbaits,jigs and chatterbaits,senkos,swimbaits,

Pretty much anything that can be fished fairly slow..

Post-spawn is when you can pretty much chuck whatever you want... Cant wait to get some topwater bites!
