What up fellow anglers! I'd love to hear from as many people as possible about how their fall fishing has been lately. We've had some pretty moderate weather changes, and it seems the patterns have been changing almost from day to day. I'm interested, and I'm sure others are, in how everyone else has been doing. What lure's have been good? What sizes are doing well? Where have the fish been holding? What isn't working? Things like this. Well, I hope to hear from some people, and in the meantime, good luck and have fun!!

My cousin and i fished last Thursday. I caught 5 bass and 1 trout on white spinnerbait in shallow water. We won't mention what he caught. But he did catch a 4 lber the other day after he threw a spinnerbait.

Denny and I also went out last Thursday to Spec. pond off of Rt 119 on Littleton Groton line, windy as hell but had an okay day. Only two where 2 lbs and the other 11 where all small. We caught the big ones on a red rattle trap off of points and a few with white spinner baits off of the last few lilly pads. Nothing was caught on weight less worms or jigs. I was very surprised about that, everything that was caught was on moving fast bait! And of course the big one got away. I got the blame because the red rattle trap came off of the line; I didn’t tie a good knot…….LOL

I haven't had *any* time to get out, which has been sort of the pattern for most of the season. I'm hoping that this weekend will hold up, since it's a decent shot for me to get out and have one last hurrah.

i'm not a big spinnerbait guy so i've stuck with plastics lately. they've been working, especially drop shotting but i've been fishing crystal clear water with little structure or cover. the strike zone is definitely smaller and the fish aren't as active in my experience. i went out yesterday in the cold and rain. water was 49 degrees and i finally had a big fish on the drop shot...and lost it. on that note, i think i'm packing it up for the year lol

I put my boat away today.
Its been a cold fall this year. I might get one more trip in, if the weather warms a little. But, I think your right Sam. Its time to pack it up. See ya all in the spring!! Laughing

Hey - I've been out a couple of times for about 90 minutes each ... recently - wading, so the hands get cold by about that time ! Fishing was slow, but I did take some pickerel and a few small bass (14-16"). Water I fish most (when time is short) has very little depth change, so fish are holding (it seemed) near breaks. Took them on a variety of shallow diver minnow types, work-pause ... pause ... work ... hits came on the pause as it slowly rose. Not hard hits, just 'takes'.
But, year over ?!? No way ! Not until that water is hard ! Q.

Yes I agree, I'll only stop when I litterally can't get my lure to drop through the ice. Not that ill be catching them the whole time, but ill be trying!!!! I went out a few times this week, alot of pickeral and a couple of bass. All on the drop shot except one on a hack attack jig. I was out Wednesday at the resevoir in Danvers, pouring rain and freezing. My Sebille swimbait got stuck and I refused to lose it. So I stripped to my boxers and went in after it. I almost got hypothermia, but I got the swimbait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I refuse to surrender the season. I'm still getting bass at Spy Pond on spinnerbaits, spoons, anything shiny. Hang in there!

I did ok yesterday. 2 small bass, a pickerel, and a perch all on the jerkbait.

Over ?!? It's not over !! It's just colder ! Fish are still feeding ... okay, slower presentations maybe, deeper (possibly) and maybe the species switch a bit ... fewer Bass (not 'no' bass !) more Pickerel ... and now trout are a stronger option where they share the same water.
Went out yesterday with my Bro exploring on the cape ... Fished (wading) for just over an hour at a new (for us) pond and each caught a decent Rainbow [15 1/2 and 14"]. We were losing the sun and had about a 1/2 mile walk out, or I think we might have scored again. I really wanted to get out today but ... not in the cards. Maybe ... Thursday ?!? Regardless ... lots more days in the water coming up ! Q.

Only 2 were mine. Slow rolling spinners and a suspending jerk in 8 to 10 feet. They were still biting and the guys we were with were killing them.
