Could anyone point me in the right direction on getting some of these cats in the Leominster area. Seeing with the heat the Bass bite is tough, I just want to refresh and relax and catch some kitty cats.

Well my only honey hole around leominster would be "The Otherside" the cover is cheap and the kitty cats are cheaper.I on the otherhand cant find any info on channel cats other than a high 80% of all pin cats come from the Conn.River. But you knew that didnt you Rokibass.

people on this site mostly fish for bass. very vew go after other species or fish the hardwater. too cold for them I guess...this site is a ghost town in the winter!

Thats too bad.thanks for the headsup volume.sounds like a bunch of guys missing a great opportunity.I've heard you talk about hardwater,so i know your not one lol.I've seen some pics of nice cats on here,so some one somewhere must know.maybe just dont want to give up the 411.Thats cool though, searching and doing your own homework can be even more fun sometimes, just thought with the season getting late I'd try a shortcut lol

haha, I wish i could help you out on that one, never fished for cats really though.

And yes, i'll be hitting the hardwater this year as much as possible, with all the heat and humidity this summer, I'm almost looking forward to it, haha. I guess I can wait...I'd love to get a ice derby/tourney going, but I don't know if we'd get enough interest on this site. I live in medford and am always down to travel, so let me know if you have anything like that coming up this winter...

will do,theres usually several in this area.I'm in Gardner. It doesnt have to be a derby,if you want to try anywhere out this way anytime and want to save a little time searching and energy drilling,I'll show you some great spots or give you any info I have.

I'm struggling with understanding the appeal of ice fishing, despite my father-in-law insisting on its virtues. I think partially because it in some way reminds me of trolling: You sit around and wait for things to happen. On top of that, it's freezing cold (a pre-requisite) and your ass is precariously supported by the good grace of physics over what could be a swift and chilly death. Despite that, people seem to really dig it, and I feel the need to at least try it once or twice some time. What is the appeal to the two of you?
