Yeah that's it Bobby, natick outdoor store and Jims. would be a no brainer for mackeral and stuff as well, the river is thriving with carp and channel cats as well. big fishing behind the old/new watch factory. I was looking at spot right in that building. back side corner right on the water. awesome local, but they didn't want to break me off a piece, lol
so location is tough in that area if its cheap it's in the middle of town and close to the water is like 20k a month, so not seeing it happen.

yeah i know what your saying. the amount of turnover of business on main street is alarming too. everytime i go down there there is something closed down and something new opening up

Well, you could get one of those Aluminum Vans or an old tool truck and fit it with tanks....then go to the hot parking lots with shiners and maybe a little tackle.....and coffee......maybe...

Better scoop up those old Hostess trucks now, because it was on the news the other day that another food company may start making twinkies again!

Iv'e been toying with the idea of opening a small bait shop in Waltham on the charles for years, live bait mainly. small other odds and ends.
we'll see

That is a great Idea I remmber the old bear's den he had a great little shop on the corner of main and south st. But he messed up when he moved and expanded to achery tackle and hunting stuff.
I used to sell some home made flys there. I always wanted to open something there when I retire but the way thinks looks like won't be happing to soon. Johnny you got my buisness good luck.

Would be a liar if I didn't admit I price shop to an extreme. This doesn't mean I only buy cheap equipment. Rather, I find something of quality which works and price shop that item until I find the best deal. Senkos for $3.49 per pack and never a penny more! My latest Shimano Sahara for $57, not the usual $79.
Being a former small business owner, I realize my online shopping hurts local businesses, but unfortunately, with this economy, I need to look out for what works best for me. If money wasn't an issue, I would buy from local shops and hand them a tip as I walked out the door.

To me in my financial situation and having 5 kids, it's all about saving money wherever I can. I like the idea of supporting the local guys and do for bait and small stuff for convenience and if I'm close by their shop, but I'm looking to save money every other time and no apologies for that.

Say goodbye to Northern Bass Supply Sad

Sandy has plenty of loyal customers that will still support the local businesses
