This 83-acre lake averages 11 feet in depth with a transparency of seven feet. About 80% of the shoreline has been developed with seasonal and year-round dwellings. Fishing, swimming, sailing and water skiing are popular activities. Boats can be launched from a gravel ramp located off Donnelly Cross Road at the northeast corner of the lake. The ramp is situated at the end of a shallow cove which somewhat restricts the size of boats that can be launched without great difficulty. Parking space is available for about 20 cars. Shore access is limited to the area adjacent to the dam and remaining undeveloped shoreline not posted to trespassing. Fish Populations: Resident gamefish included largemouth bass and chain pickerel. White perch, yellow perch, pumpkinseeds and black crappie represented Panfish. Although no bullheads were collected, they are almost certainly present.
The native fishery is supplemented each spring with hatchery-grown trout. Fishing pressure for these trout can only be estimated, since there has been little conclusive creel census work at this lake. Because of limited shore fishing access and a boat ramp conducive to launching only small boats, fishing pressure is presumed to be moderate. Expect the heaviest pressure in late April through early May when interest in trout is at its peak.
