In Between The Rain
My son and I wanted to get our fix in this morning just after the rain, and before new rains set in, so we headed to Attitash. We saw the weather and figured it would be our only window of opportunity for the rest of the weekend. What a great morning it was.
We still had clouds, but that was fine, as there was a nice breeze on the water to temper the humidity. The fish were certainty biting, in two hours we landed 13 fish! Pickeral were hitting my son's and my spinnerbaits, he landed a nice size one too, but that's not what we were targeting.
With the dark and overcast clouds, I went to "my" go to black spinnerbait. I had lots of success, including my lunker of the day, a 4.47 lb bass (scale jumped down as he wriggled), but didn't want to stress the fish out on multiple weighs. I normally don't weigh anything unless I think it's a decent fish (for me anyways).
I also cut the hook off as well. It was caught in the tough area under the mouth and I didn't want to do any damage. The only damage that was done was to my thumb as I tried to hold him.
All in all, a great morning for both my son and I, and arguably one of our best outings at Attitash as it can be hit or miss.
