Coming from a $20-30 cheap combo, yes you'll like it. Once you upgrade to a $70+ rod you won't even want to use your others IMO

I totally agree. Then you'll try a buddies 250 dollar rod and want one of them. That's where I'm at. Crap. I need another job

haha yup! I met some nice guys the other day at a local pond. Both guys had some sweet gear. One of them let me cast he's $600 combo. G loomis/shimano

After admiring the beauty for awhile i went to pick up one of my rods. For a second i thought i picked up a kids toy, but reality hit and realized it was just my mediocre setup... now i feel like im chucking a walmart special! Wish i never asked that guy lol!

Yeah, I had one. it was a 7'2'' Shaky head/Senko spinning rod. Extremely sensitive, you could feel everything. Absolutely the most sensitive rod I've ever used. I loved it.

Then one day it got tangled in some line on a very windy day, and I watched it sink into 13' of water. I'm not sure exactly how it happened but somehow it got pulled out of the rod holder on my kayak. I almost capsized trying to grab it. That sucked.

that happened to me before, if you go to bass pro shops in the aisle near the fishing line, there's a section where they have like rod tip replacements, and fishing gadgets, they have fishing rod floats that wrap around your rod and if it happens to go overboard, you can get it back cause it wont sink. I have them on all my fishing rods even though i graduated from fishing in a kayak to fishing in a jon boat
