I'm wondering if anybody has seen the Quabbin? Do you think it'll be open on April 13th as it says on the website? I hope so. This will be the first year ever that I've been available to go on opening day.

I was up around Ware today and saw some ice on a few things, but we're posed to be mid 40s and low 50s all next week so I would hope so

I'm thinking 3 weeks should be enough time to melt it all. Thanks for the update. Btw. My TM did come with a weedless wedge

On your new boat to Q? Man, That's great! Personally I wouldn't care Q's openning day. I like to pick a calmest day to boat on Q. I watch the wind forecast before I go there. The wind is always stronger on the Q than forecast.

I won't be taking my boat. I don't think they allow flat bottom boats and I don't wanna get that seal if they do. I plan on renting one of theirs. I have fished in some serious wind there. It seems that no matter what the forecast there is always wind in the afternoon

I used to take my Jon out on Quabbin. The only thing is they would say stay off the main lake. They never bothered us on the main lake we would go all the way down to the bouys without a problem. But boy you had to watch out when the wind picked up in the afternoon or you'd be zig zagging your way back with the white caps. NO FUN.

There's still a lot of ice out this way.

Drove by Spot Pond in Stoneham yesterday. There is still ice by turtle rock (locals know where that is). Almost there boys as far as ice being gone! Doesn't seem to be stopping many of you though, which is great to see!

Quabbin Visitor's Center.
Gate 8 is around the corner from the second point on the left.

Never been there. On my list of places to fish. Very picturesque for sure!

It is the most beautiful, awesome place in Massachusetts. Not just for fishing. It can be a tough place to find them but you will always see an eagle and all sorts of wild life. There's nothing like being in the middle of a true wilderness.

I've seen bald eagles from a distance. There is a nesting pair on the other side of the lake we rent a cottage on each summer. I'd love to see one up close! Team North shore will make it to the Q this season for sure!
