So I planned on ice fishing Sunday ( as much as i don't want to lol) but provided the ice ain't safe by then I figured id take a few rods and head over to quinsig and fish the concrete pilings under the white city bridge. Ny question is I've never fished under it before so what ( if anything) do u guys thi.k I could catch under there? I figure those concrete supporrs will be a great spot for big fish to ambush little fish. Qhat should I bring? Bass rods, pike rod, trout rod, live bait, large or small, dead bait, artificial, ect? I'm feeling like I just want to catch something but no panfish lol.

Quinsig has to be the worst bass fishery in mass. It looks great, has cover and structure but not a lot of bass. Ive never intentionally targeted panfish so I don't know the quality of that fishery. I do know there are rock bass in there that are aggressive buggers.

Yup gonna wholeheartedly agree with that one!! Dan and I live maybe 15 away from there and I rather fish out of a porta-potti!!!

why dont you tell us how you really feel... lol. nah i would love to catch some bass but i dont even care as long as i catch something decent sized on rod n reel this weekend. i never fish quinsig so i just didnt know if under that bridge was any good for anything. if i could narrow it down id sy this weekend i either want to catch some bass or pike on rod n reel. any good open water anywhere? preferably close to worcester lol

Your best bet for bass this time of year is to find the shallowest, smallest pond you can that has bass in it. By covering the entire pond with reactions baits...... jerkbaits, shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, you are bound to run into them. Without the sanctuary of deep water they are more suseptable to your lure presentation. Also about this time of year and a given pond, once you find them, they tend to be in that general location year after year after year.

this is why i usually resort to cooks pond at tatnuck square when im having a slow day and need some action. its the smallest pond i know of that has bass and pickerel and ive cought and know guys that have cought good sized bass outta there and ive pulled 3lb picks outta there, deepest part only 12 feet. unfortunately i was ice fishing on saturday so therer aint no open water there lol

Not sure where you live. Typically ponds and lakes nearest the ocean tend to have less ice because of the relative warmth of the ocean water keeping the land temps close by a bit higher. Thats why some years guys are icefishing in Western mass all winter while guys who fish the cape have open water 90% of the winter.

You're screwed Laughing Typically one of the colder spots in mass because of elevation.

Does quinsig ever give up decent bags?
My friend said he has always hated it but learned alot about it this year and had his best success on quinsig. but you need a boat to access where he went.

If you get 5 fish for 10lbs call the Telegram. It's breaking news.
Flint pond looks awesome for frogs and creature baits. You will flip and from your face off with fish few and far between

That's what i thought. Maybe when he said he did well he found them good enough to hold up well in a tourney.
