How do you rig a tube?

Depends on where I am throwing it.

1. open water with a clean bottom: exposed jighead with a rattle

2. skipping into cover texas rigged with a screw in weight or pegged weight

3. bumping it along through rocks: texas rigged with glider weights inside

thanks for the info. only so many fish you can catch on a Senko before you get bored.

If I'm flipping weeds i Texas rig the tube with a weight pegged.

If im skipping tube under cover i use a glider weight (not available in lead free )

Open water not weedy i use quick load method to use a 1/4 -3/8 oz tube jig head.

I havent use a glider weight this year because they aren't available in lead free. i'm sure i can make that happen tough.

I fish it exposed hook jig head everywhere I'm an animal!

Try it carolina rigged.Worked well for me in cold water.Use a light weight though.

It's time to speed things up Bass will become more aggresive with each passing day. The fall feed is getting into gear right now. Try spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, rattle baits, jerkbaits and crankbaits for some variety

Depending where you have weight in tube will affect it's fall and tube weights.
You can create a wide spiral, a straight drop etc.
Wide spiral might imitate a dying bait-fish slowly sinking to bottom.


I can get more detailed if needed.
Quick loading is when you just insert tube jig into head of tube instead of inserting thru hole in back (quick load).

Glider is a flat weight with a hole and it slides inside of tube onto hook shank.

All my tube jigs have 3/0 hooks

it sounds like a joke but it's a cool way to rig a tube.
I imagine you could get creative and flip tube 180 deg and use a piece of foam inside to have tenticals float upwards. Another twist
