Anybody have any twist prevention tips? I haven't seen any mention of swivels in all of my reading about drop shotting but the few times I've tried it I end up with a twisted mess of line

I have a real nice product to show you. My father is setting up a store right now and he is bringing me back 2-3. It is an icast award winner and specifically made for drop shotting (no line twist).
I will post the product as soon as i have it in my hands (tonight).
I'd tell you but i don't remember the name or company. lol

i use these style hooks for drop shot, you tie in the middle (polymer knot) and take your tag end through the eye and attach your weight. they work pretty good, and keeps your bait horizontal at all times. hope this helps!

and the shape of the hooks prevents twisting? Or at least minimizes it?

The way you tie it on keeps your hook and weight straight, I can't guarantee no twist at all but it definitely reduces it

Yea those are pretty sweet ill Def be trying them out

Posted Thu Mar 29, 2012 5:04 pm

I just emailed tackle warehouse to see if they could add them to my order. I don't wanna pay for shipping if I don't have to

I was looking for those the other day at Bass Pro, but the guy told me they didn't have them in the store yet (Foxboro). Hopefully you found them, they look sweet! I definitely want to get into the drop shot this year.

Thanks for the tip. I see them in a lot of online stores. I didn't want to pay shipping just for hooks and had an order at tackle warehouse but they say that's already to be shipped so I can't add to it. So far ebay has the cheapest shipping but it'll be like paying 6 bucks a pack. I've tried dropshotting a couple of times now with the same crazy twisted results and only 2 small bass to show for it. I know the technique works so I'm gonna get some of these hooks an see what i can do!!!

barrel swivel about two feet up. Thats what I use and it works and up until I moved here I just used regular size 2 octoptus hooks since I always had a ton of them.

those are what i use and don't get a lot of twist even with fluoro. i may check the vmc out, but i read on tacklewarehouse people had hook point issues. hopefully those were isolated incidents.

shawn, what size are you looking for? i have a ton of extra's i'll never use that you can have if you want. (Size 1)

being new to the drop shot I'm not too sure about hook size. If it's free it's for me. Thanks Sam
