True story.........Last weekend Denny and I fish our honey hole, we threw : spinner baits, JIGS, cranks and Texas rigs all morning until 11:30. NOT one fish, neither of us picked up our worm rods. At 11:30 in the heat of the day I picked mine up, I caught a 2.9 off a dock, a dink in the pads. Then we went to a drop from 6-13 feet and I caught a 4.13 all wack'd worm. NOT ONE was gut hooked and they all swam away. What's the moral of the story?

Oooo. I know!! Don't go fishing until after 11

Here is a question. What would all you senko slingers do if Senkos did not exist? Answer the question as it is asked. I dont want to see " but they do exist". I look forward to your replys.

Throw a knockoff. They work just the same. Strike king Ochos smell good.

Not sure I'm a "Senko slinger" because I think that means that's all you use and I use 5-6 other baits but I do use Senko for maybe 20% of fishing so I will answer because it's an easy question for me:

Weightless Zoom Brush Hog. Can fish it just like a Senko and it skips even better.

Very Happy shiners! No seriously I like cranks and caught my biggest bass off a ratl trap earlier this yr. I don't just throw senkos just have nothing against them. I understand not wanting inexperienced fisherman not to use them because u have to really pay attention to the line. This fall I am going to work on catching a fish on a jig. Still haven't figured them out yet.

i dont throw senkos cuz they dont last, and for the money its not worth it to me. i like using the zoom trick worms especially the big versions.

gut hooking can be the result of incorrect line. i was throwing a c-rig in the wind with floro main line and floro leader.. lazyness didnt want to using my spinning reel with the braid since i had my drop shot on it. well the c-rig was producing and i gut hooked 3 fish over 3lbs and had to cut all 3 hooks, all the fish went back as healthy as they were before they bit. after the 3rd gut hook i tied my c-rig onto my spinning reel with the braid and i could actually feel the initial bite which resulted in no guy hooks and perfect hook sets. its not always the worm.

when i would throw wacky senkos (years back now) on my C hooks i would take needle nose pliers and squeeze down the barb so the hook would be removed easily even if the fish swallowed it. 9/10 times worked well. just have to keep the pressure on the fish or he'll shake the hook.

hope this helped.

Yes I crush the barbs whatever worm I'm using as extra precaution. Have to remember to really cross the eyes when they bite. Lost my last 3 good size fish because of this. Still the alternative of even gut hooking one fish I would rather lose a couple.
