Ive never really targeted Catfish and i think i would maybe like to go catfishing. Does anyone know where there are good catfish ponds?(I live on the south shore) I know cat fish dont get that big around here i would just like to target a new species. and if anyone has tips for bait. Ive caught then fishing on bottom with worms but only a couple when i was a lot younger. Any help is appreciated.

I've caught brown bullhead (horn pout) just by leaving worms or boils on the floor. Usually when I catch them I have no indication that there's a fish on until I start to reel in to check my bait. Are there other species (of tastier) catfish around?

The concord river I know is excellent. There are bullheads as well as white catfish, which get much larger. I've caught 2lb white cats, and the state record is 9lb. Good baits are powerbait, dead or live fish, worms. Good luck!
