The quality difference between the cumara and any of those other 3 rods is night and day and for $30-$60 buck smore you are getting 2x the rod and it has a lifetime warrentee

I just check BPS site for cumara, the spinning is clearanced for $189 all model are out of stock. The baitcast is not clearanced.

I would definitely spend the extra $30 if I was in the market.

I broke a Shimano Crucial last year and Bass Pro would not take it back. They told me I had to go through Shimano which would have been paying for the shipping both ways and they would fix or replace whatever they decided. I had to convince a manager of the warranty I was told at time of purchased. That if for any reason if the rod broke I could return it to the store. It was a hassle replacing this rod.

Bottom line is the warranty is not as advertised.

The shimano warranty says return to the store? I always understood it was return to Shimano. There is no "fixing" a snapped rod. They will replace it. Paying shipping to get a free $230 rod because I broke it is a great warranty. Try doing that with ANY OTHER rod manufacturer. If you break it..... its on you. They will replace any defective rod but you are still paying shipping. St. Croix has a partial warranty. You pay a fee plus shipping. Same thing with Kistler.

I was told when purchasing they would replace at store level if it ever broke. I agree shipping fee is a small price to pay to replace a rod... I have 5 Shimano reels and 3 of their rods and I have no complaints with their product. By far my best reels...

The repair could only be the tip, an eye, or reel seat. I realize that.
