I don't know how you could refer to the KVD as ok. It's a fish catching machine although I do agree that you have to change the hooks. A crankbait rod makes all the difference too

the split rings on those rust easily. gotta make sure they stay dry and no weeds or other gunk are stuck to them at the end of a day.
