Okay, so I was cleaning out my smart phone's photo gallery today, and I rediscovered this video I had forgotten about. I recorded this video back during the winter of 2k12 at Luddam's Ford in Hanover. This fish was HUGE, I've never seen any freshwater fish this big, let alone at Luddam's Ford which is kind of small to begin with. It was swimming on the water's surface like a shark, very slowly and lethargically. I almost thought it was a Carp, but I honestly don't believe there are any Carp in Luddam's Ford (Lived in Hanover my whole life and never heard of Carp there ever) I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on this Loch Ness monster lol Laughing the video doesn't even do the size of it justice, it looked massive to me, and even with that said I was roughly 40-50 feet away recording this video and it still looks pretty darn big for that distance. Watch it in 1080p, and tell me what ya'll think. Id click the link and go straight to YouTube as well to watch it, so you can enlarge the video to see it better.

Can stripers get that far up the North River, maybe?

I don't believe so, it's all freshwater at Luddam's Ford. As well as freshwater an additional 2-3 miles downstream from Luddam's. But who knows, maybe it was. That would be wicked if it was!

They're actually anadromous, so it's not too far fetched. I wasn't sure if there was a dam between the river and Ludhams.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. That's pretty cool. But the only problem is there is a rather large 4 stage waterfall at Luddams Ford, approx. 15 feet high. That striper would have quite the work load to get up into the main body of water where I saw him Razz that's why I am so perplexed as to what it could have been. It's kind of spooky to be honest Laughing not knowing what it was.

I have caught schoolie stripers in the Hanover section of the north river. As far as ludhams ford I would bet money that they don't make it that far. With out seeing it out of the water I would guess its a shad or some kind of herring. They hang out in the shallow pools at the falls my buddy foul hooked one.
