I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the HDS-5 after xmas so if you plan on upgrading let me know

I don't have 1st hand experience with it yet, but I've been hearing some good things about the Dragonfly. There's also been some pretty good 1 or 2 day deals for it lately, but I keep missing them. I might just bite the bullet and buy at normal price as it's a pretty good price for what you get compared to other similar devices. I've had hummingbirds in the past and they are ok but I've been looking for something better. I've had a lowrance now for a year or so, and I'm not happy with it at all - I've had numerous technical issues and I don't like the glare. But we all experience things different I suppose.

I'm also intrigued by that unit. They were on sale at West Marine for 499, I should've bought it.
