2nd vote for the Brush Hog! They're awesome T-rigged in the junk. Both full and baby size are tremendous.

Been absolutely killing it the past week on full size Brush Hogs and Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver 4.20s, they're out-catching senkos (weedless and wacky rigged with o-rings) even for me.

This morning in the rain, all on Brush Hogs:

I use Netbait paca craws, thrown weightless on a heavy wire hook. It offers just enough weight to give it a slow fall and if you speed the retrive up you can buzz it on the surface

Thanks man, it's been a tough season so far for me but finally starting to get the numbers I am looking for

Almost all of my fish this year have been on Creature Baits, Beaver style, or Brush Hogs. Clear/Sunny days/mornings/afternoons whatever I prefer to use Pumpkin, Watermelon/Red, Green Pumpkin, or Plum. Cloudy days I tend to stick to Green Pumpkin with a Purple or Blue flake. Dirty/Stained/Muddy water situations I usually throw a Black w/Red or Blue Flake exclusively or a Junebug color. Regardless of whether or not its sunny or cloudy. I fish Texas Rigs primarily, or sometimes a Carolina rig when I am fishing a Brush Hog or Lizard. But it could also be like what was mentioned before, you could be also fishing em' too fast. Creature baits are a slow methodically retrieve, making those "feelers" or "tentacles" or w/e you want to call them, do all the work for you haha. Especially in the heat of summer where bass are sluggish, you want something that still gives a good amount of movement with little to no effort on your part.

I took my son out with me and we both had brush hogs tied, his free weight and mine carolina rig. So far he is kicking my butt and caught two 2lbs bass and I caught nothing. The last fish was close to the shore and it took my bait but spit the hook and grabbed my sons after i told him where to cast.

I have been having some decent luck with gambler ugly otter, quarter ounce carolina rig with about 12 inch of leader. Also the berkley chigger craw and thief texas rigged. Those little wooden worm floats can make a world of difference in some spots where you want to crawl on top of the weeds with a lizard, or worm. They look almost like a bullet worm weight but they are balsa wood. Peg it right above the hook in a carolina rig and it keeps the bait just above the bottom. Works pretty well.carolina rig is a sound hot weather technique.
