If my local ice fishing spot is not safe Sat. I may take the boat out of moth balls. Weighing my options seeing I have this weekend off I don't want to waste it.

Yes the ramp is always open. Looks like they plowed snow right to the edge of the ramp tho. You might be able to get in. Pike fishing a awesome eight now there

Thanks for the info. What I meant about open was is there any ice and could I launch by boat. I may end up trying either Sat or Sun.

A Concord we will go. Looking like were going to hit the Concord River on Sunday. Mid 50's and wide open, now that's what I'm talking about. The hell with trying to find safe ice.

That's awesome. How's the current?

Posted Fri Jan 11, 2013 8:18 am

The current doesn't seem bad but there were white caps with the wind yesterday. I'm hoping we can locate a couple toads.

Good luck. Being under electric power only I'm avoiding rivers until after the Spring runoff

Most likely the Bedford Rd. ramp. That's subject to change but Bam and I are definitely going out.
Are you planning on heading out?
It would be a great time for a test run.

Looking forward to this years event there, took me a while to find em last year but I did, I think it was a 45 minute ride back from the spot with the 9.9 man I need a 25hp bad!

The one thing I learned last year there was a 3 gallon gas tank isn't enough. I had switch from a 6 gallon tank to save space and was never a problem in any lake or pond, but the river .
I now bring a 1 gallon can spare just in case.

TBD but i should have the new boat so i'm really thinking about it. i only have the electric though so i'd probably fish the bay and launch closer if i do. if i go fishing, the charles is more likely. i'll let you know if i hit the concord though.

Sam where would you go on the Charles? Darren and I are looking to fish Sunday. I was thinking we'd have to go south. Thinking Billington. What kind of current would you expect?

Posted Fri Jan 11, 2013 12:49 pm
