Annual Cobbossee Me. Trip

We made another trip to Maine. I had intentions of traveling to different lakes while there but my fuel pump broke 1st, then my momentary on/off switch broke on trolling motor. So we made the best of it and fish the upper part of cobbossee. I figure seen the water temps were 55 deg they would still be pre- spawn. So the jerk-bait bite worked best.My son caught the first fish on a french fry then unfortunately he didn't have luck after that. I lost a monster large mouth (6lbs +"? ) after a battle he won. Then i proceeded to catch 3 pike, not big ones but i managed not to loose my jerk- bait. it was the toughest trip I've seen yet. But i managed we managed to catch some fish and enjoy the weather.

  • Nice Smallie I see in one of the pictures there. The Cob is a great lake to fish, usually. Get's more pressure than most of the other lakes up there, but still produces. I grew up right near there, and they didn't ice out until almost the 3rd week of april. I would say another 2 weeks, with some decent weather, and they'll be ready to roll.
