Review: I've had some great days on the Charles but not all locations are created equally. Sport and recreational traffic can get pretty heavy downstream from Millenium Park (West Roxbury) all the way to the harbor but there are fish to be found. Upstream things get a lot more interesting as the river narrows to more of a creek and there is a lot of deadfall to fish. Of course, if you go upstream far enough you can actually catch trout. I tend to fish the Charles in the Spring and Fall. The water is just too full of weeds and other scary looking stuff during the high summer months.
