I've fished at sunset lake many times and it is a nice little spot to do a little light fishing. I've never caught anything huge there but have only fished this lake off the shore. The addition of kayaks this summer will hopefully help yield larger fish. Never caught trout here even though they are stocked yearly, but there is plenty of largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and sunfish.

yea my pb came out of there a couple years back it was a 6.5 but lately I haven't been doing good there

I use to do really good with senkos at this place. however I haven't had to much luck there this year yet. only a couple dinks on spro frogs. I know this lake holds some big bass but for some reason ive been struggling recently

i actually enjoy fishing this little fishing hole. the boat ramp is tough and you can only use electric motors but there are some decent fish

Sunset Lake Description
This lake, located in Braintree, is stocked with trout every spring. The lake is boat accessible, with a ramp located off of Franklin street on a path leading to Braintree High School. Trolling motors are allowed, but gas motors cannot be used on this body of water. On the beach, signs say "No Fishing," although this rule is not enforced.
