The depth averages about 30 feet with a maximum of 46 feet. The shoreline is 90% developed with summer homes. Aquatic weeds are scant with some patches of lily pads. Large boulders are numerous along the shoreline. Boat access is limited to car top boats or canoes, which can be carried across county property off of Leadmine Road. Shore access is very limited. Fish Populations: largemouth bass, chain pickerel, rainbow trout, brook trout, yellow perch, white perch, bluegill, pumpkinseed, brown bullhead, white sucker and golden shiner. The most abundant gamefish is largemouth bass and the most abundant panfish is the bluegill.
Largemouth bass provide fair fishing; large yellow perch and white perch provide productive panfishing. The Division of Fisheries and Wildlife does not presently stock trout here, but with the Division’s recent purchase of an access site, it is probable that trout stocking will resume again in the near future.
