Johns Pond is a 21 acre natural pond with an average depth of 12 feet and a maximum depth of 22 feet. The ponds 0.8 miles of shoreline is moderately developed with a new subdivision on the west, a town beach on the south and cranberry bogs to the east and north. The pond is an unstratified warmwater pond. Vegetation is abundant and transparency is good at 16 feet. The bottom is sand and gravel. Public access to Johns Pond is through a town right-of-way located off Purchase Street, which is off of Route 58. A town privilege sticker is required for parking. Nearby roadside parking may be available. Fish Populations: bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, banded sunfish and black crappie.
The recent survey found some nice sized largemouth bass and decent panfish populations. Although a relatively small pond it can offer some good fishing for the angler seeking a little variety in their fishing locales.
