Jacobs After Work
hi everyone, works been crazy lately leaving little time for fishing. I did get to spend a week fishing in maine which was great but most of the fish (no bass in this lake) were holing deep and tough to get at. most of the luck was on the fly rod catching brookies, perch and chub.
anyways, seeing as the temp has been a little lower i figured I'd get out to jacobs after work. Started topwater and missed a few hits before the bit slowed. changed it up to cranks and spinnerbaits with no hits at all. something followed the spinnerbait all the way back (probably a pickerel) but that was it. Finally, not wanting to get skunked I tossed on the senko. Fist cast and 'Tic'. Just shy of 3lbs, she fought like a bigger fish though. No a pig but I was pumped, I picked up a tourney special with a pro qualifier and this was the fist fish on it!
Thanks, got to get back over there. My last decent bass, 5lb, I got there on my last trip.
I was fishing from the road (123). I occasionally bring a canoe or yak out there but haven't in about a month either. the weeds weren't bad at all by the road, occasional patches but nothing too heavy
Were you in a boat? If so, how bad are the weeds? I was there about a month ago and the back half was pretty heavy.
