  • We used several baits, mostly minnows. We caght them off of deep diving crank baits, senko's, spanky worms and swimbaits. caught 1 good size largemouth under boat dock with jig n pig.

HAMILTON RESERVOIR, Union-Massachusetts (412 acres) Species: (T LMB SMB YP CB S BB) Note: Connecticut or Massachusetts fishing license legal on entire pond. Massachusetts regulations apply as follows: Season: Open year-round. Trout: Daily creel limit-3 Large & smallmouth bass: Daily creel limit: 5 total, 12” minimum length. Chain pickerel: Daily creel limit-5, 15” minimum length. Northern pike: Daily creel limit-1, 28” minimum length. Other: Not more than two hooks may be used during periods of open water fishing and not more than five hooks may be used when ice fishing. Hamilton Reservoir is located in the Town of Holland, Massachusetts . Holland is located in south, central Massachusetts bordering Union, Connecticut. In the 1860's the Hamilton Woolen Company dammed the Quinnebaug River and formed the Hamilton Reservoir. The Reservoir is located in the headwater region of the Quinebaug River watershed which flows north through the town and combines with the French and Middle Rivers to form the Thames River. The Thames flows southward through Connecticut into Long Island Sound. Hamilton Reservoir is the one of Holland’s biggest assets. It gives us a place to swim, ski, fish, boat, play & relax. The present rules and regulations regarding boat and jet skis are kept in kiosks located in the following places: next to the boat launch on both the south and north side of the lake by the Holland Market in front of the police department and across from PJ's bar by the beach. In the summer months at Hamilton Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's and in the night time it cools down to the 50's. In winter the highs are usually in the 30's and nighttime lows in the 10's for Hamilton Reservoir in winter. Hamilton Reservoir gets lots of precipitation, the month with most of the rain is May, February meanwhile is the driest month.
