When I first got it I had to take off the side plate a lot to make adjustments for wind and every time I changed lures. Now that I'm used to the reel I have all of the brakes off and just use my thumb and spool tension to control it but there's a definite learning curve. The bb1 pro has the dial on the side and even though 27 seems like a lot and why do I need that it's really easy to use and adjust on the fly. Both are solid reels and you've never used a smoother reel. They cast a mile too. I'm probably nitpicking a little. I think you'll be happy with a bb1. Just start with all of the brakes on and go from there

Shawn, I appreciate the information.

Now I just need to decide how long I want to sleep on the couch.
