Planning a trip out on the water with a friend tomorrow - throwing everything from soft plastics to big swimbaits.

Which would you members recommend - Whitehall or Ashland Reservoir?

Haven't fished either yet personally!

Thanks.

Whitehall better shot at landing a big bass but could get crowded. Ashland tends to be loaded with smaller bass with the occasional lunker.

Went to whitehall this Wednesday for the first time. A little over whelming in a kayak but caught a nice 3, all fish were caught in the middle. Laughing There were about 5 other boats there, 2 kayaks but the lake is so big it wasn't and issue. I suppose it sux if the motor boats are flying around but it was quite.

I have been to Whitehall twice and have yet to see the Southern side of the reservoir. It is a big one.... but I did catch my biggest bass of the year so far there. I'll make it back there some time this year again....

There is actually a spot to launch a car topper from southern end. Some nice pads back there. It doesn't get slammed quite as hard in the south but I've pulled some nice fish from there.

I like Whitehall a lot! The middle always produced the best from what I've seen. The timber in the back always looks so bassy, but I've never seen one taken from it. I'm sure they have been though.
