I've been wanting to catch a white crappie for a while. I've heard of some being caught in Mass occasionally. Anyone know if this is true?

The biggest I caught was a 1lb 55oz this month, My son and I caught a lot of small ones last weekend . I like to use road runners with jokers.

Check out this weird orange crappie my non-boater caught at a tourney at Billington Sea a month or so ago.

Wow, I've never seen a crappie like that before. I'll have to try fishing at Billington to see if I can catch one.

I can't imagine there are many if any others like that in there. That one is just a weird one. Haha.

You're probably right. But there could be, you never know.

Yeah, probably just a recessive mutation, like albinism. Though there are golden shiners in there, so maybe one of them banged a crappie. Haha!

The crappie in kenwood's pic is almost certainly a black crappie without the normal coloration.

White crappie are in the CT river drainage. Not sure of anywhere else.

It must be the season,or spawning time or the water but the I caught has that yellow tint also but more black on top and caught some smaller ones that were more black in color.
