The only time I will keep any fish that I catch is if it's a Trout or Salmon that I had caught out of a clean fresh water body or if it was a keeper size, salt-water, edible fish. For the most part I tend to snap a picture (when a camera is available) and then release it to be caught again another day! I think we all have to do our part to help manage our waters!
Yup,i never keep a fish, cuz i don't like to eat them.THROW them back so they get to be lunkers,But i do agree with a few people, trout and salmon are ok to take,if you like to eat them
I catch, weigh, measure (length and girth) photo and return, as I try to keep fairly good logs of the fish I catch
I have a mat/bag and keep a bucket of water handy to keep both fish and my hands wet through-out the process which usually takes 1-2 minutes after landing.
I am a big fan of catch and release and I host a derby and workshops on fishing so try to promote good care, of carp..ocean fish when I manage some saltwater action are another story.
