spoon, huge crankbait, senkos, spinnerbaits. Pretty much similar with bass fishing except they are ALWAYS staying OR nearby at weedline to ambush their prey at. Depth is factor due to winter.

In new york, I catch them at less ten feet deep at 40 feet deep pond. Pretty much close to shore. While another body of lake, 120 feet deep but caught them at 5 feet deep over depth of 65 feet. So, Hope someone will ring here for you buddy!

p.s. if you haven't catch one, WE WILL GO when I have school break!

We fished every inch of Fairhaven bay for 8 hours on Sunday throwing everything from swimbaits to jerkbaits to spinnerbaits and only caught two 3-4 pound bass. It's hardly a hot spot. If you want a decent chance at a pike you either got to head to western MA or north to Maine. RI and CT have some good pike fishing also. The problem with pike fishing in MA is that most lakes that were stocked they did not become a reproducing population and the state suspended pike stocking stocking operations in 2008. That means when they're gone they're gone. Prime example, Lake Chauncy and A-1 site (Stump Pond) in Westborough used to have great pike and tiger muskie fishing 15-20 years ago but the fish in those lakes did not reproduce and since they are no longer stocked they are just about all but gone from those lakes.

Last year upstream from Fairhaven Bay in August, I nailed a 36" and 20" pike during one of our kayak tournaments. So I am fairly confident the pike ARE reproducing in the Sudbury River. I do agree that it is hardly a hot spot. And it gets a lot of fishing pressure from the boating crowd.

You kind of made my point in a round about type of way. The Sudbury /Concord river is one of the few naturally reproducing populations of pike in MA and yet the fishing still not great.

Like anything else, do the research and put in your time and I'm sure you'll get into a decent pike eventually.
