No scale, no camera beside my shitty phone, but this may be my personal best. I've caught several fish around 3.5# this year, but this Bad Larry was on another level. May be my personal best. I don't have a lot of experience with fish this big, although I usually weigh them this time I was unprepared. What do you guys think he weighs? He swallowed a crankbait sideways and his mouth was so big I got it out easily, but there was a lot of blood. He swam off fast so I'm pretty sure he survived.

It is really hard to guess weight by looking at pictures. But, it appears to be in the 3-4lb range.

Definitely solid 3 pounder.

Lenth x width x height + diameter, divided by pie then squared then you pludg that into the squardadic equasion..... 4lbs

solid fish...probably the 3-4 lb. range. maybe closer to 4 if it has a big gut.

We got a bleeder, gut hooked bad? Did it swim off ok? Hope so, nice 3.5-4 lb'er either way!

length x length x girth รท 1,200

the way it was bleeding, my guess was that the gills were damaged

He wasn't gut hooked, but he swallowed a Scatter-Rap sideways and both the front and rear hooks lodged on opposite sides of his throat, which is an indication of how big his throat was. Got the front one out easy, the rear was hooked under that bony pallete they have where we have a tongue. It was near his gills but I was very careful, I might have nicked them but there wasn't serious damage. It seemed like the blood was coming from his throat, but I can't be sure.

When i was holding him his throat was filling up with blood and I wanted to release him ASAP. I took a quick snap and a video with the I-phone and let him go. Bastard gave me a flick of the tail and got me wet, he swam off fast with no hesitation. He should be fine.

I'm not saying he was 5, but I've caught many 3.5's on this lake recently, and this dude was a lot bigger. Maybe my personal best this season.

sounds good. for what you did to him, the least he could do to you was get you a little wet. nice fish.

No s*** right? I should know better. But thanks, that's the answer I was looking for. It's not like someone would comment " I can scientifically validate by your shaky, blurry video, that fish weighed 6.7 pounds."
