Is it too cold?

Im going to be next to Mascuppioc Lake in Dracut tonight and was thinking of dropping a line in. Anyone know if anything is biting lately and any suggestions.

Good luck tonight! I haven't been out much the last few weeks but the times I was out it was pretty slow...still put fish in the boat or caught them from the shore. Crankbaits and jigs have been my top choices for lures and I caught a couple on the spinnerbait last weekend too. I'm heading out with my Dad tomorrow so we're hoping for a couple big bites.

I've been doing well the last few weeks. Caught a bunch of LM and smallies in shallow water, They seem to be flushing out bait fish especially at dawn and dusk. Some of the biggest I caught all year in the last 2 weeks.

Crankbaits have been doing it for me, but caught a few on spinners too. Good Luck!

Water temp is still in the 50 deg. range in most ponds. As it gets closer to 40, things will slow down significantly, but you can still catch fish I've had some real good January fishing when we have had open water.
