Sunday, cold, cloudy and windy. The Sun broke through here and there so it was not too bad of a day. Roger and I arrived to find Sam at the launch setting up his boat. Shortly after Shawn came stumbling out of the woods like a Squatch. He proceeded to tell us that him and Sam had christened the woods. Great, all is normal. Chuck arrives and launches his boat, he then boots me out of his truck for butchering the parking of his trailer. We are ready to fish.

Teaming up for the day: Chuck & Karl Roger & Mark Shawn & Sam and Bobby Biggz going solo.

Shawn and Sam brought their finesse game, they threw crank baits, when that didn't work they threw crankbaits some more. They did manage a 5.8, not lunker but entire bag. If they could do it all over again, they said they would throw more cranks. Sam did win a bag of doritos for winning lunker at a previous event. * We don't even care that he did it long after the other teams went home.

Mark and Roger came in with some fish and to no surprise Mark brought in Lunker for the day at 4+.

Bobby had a great day fishing solo and took 2nd place. Impressive on such a tough day.

Chuck and I took home the win with a whopping 12.5 bag. Chuck nailed one early on a spinner bait. It was hard to find anything that worked after that. We caught our fish on a 75 yard stretch. Throwing jigs with small trailers tight to stumps and sticks in the shade.letting it pause and the bass were picking it up. Chuck did all the damage needed with a few nice ones.

Tough bite but still good to be fishing.

You forgot to tell us where this event went down Wink

Sounds like it was a good day. Congrats to all involved

I was dialed I'm to the same pattern and locations as chuck and Karl. 3 bites all day but made them count. Big one on a black single Colorado blade I'm 2-3 ft of water. Other two were flipping trees (both caught on the same tree about 4 hrs apart) with a craw and 3/8ths oz pegged weight. Wasted a lot of time chasing bait fish and didn't get a single bite. Should of just followed chuck and Karl up and down the shore line all day

Oh, simple oversight and sorry about that. It was held at Lake "C"! Laughing

Was good to get out as a small group for sure and looking forward to some more this season. Like Shawn said Sunday. "Until there is ice, I'm fishing!"

should've pounded shoreline all day but i hate doing that for maybe 5 bites. i'll take doritos any way i can even if it means catching a 5.6 pounder on a crankbait at 3 pm.

don't worry, the place is absolutely not a secret.

I ate half the bag of Doritos.

the place shouldn't matter. the techniques (what worked, what didn't, what worked better than others) should be what matters. it could be a 50 acre pond or a 500 acre lake. who cares. people just go to spots and blow them up just b/c someone else did well instead of trying to learn new things.

the only reason i didn't say the place was b/c it was suggested so i don't know if other people would care about publicizing the spot. all i know is that it's probably one of the easiest and most accessible places i've been to and has a nice concrete ramp. not a secret and it's really nothing special at all.
