We had a tourney there yesterday and almost every fish that was caught or brought to the scales has pretty significant sores on them..

Just wondering if anyone has fished there recently and noticed samething?

I heard there was a weed kill possibly that took place not long ago?

Thanks for any info

Weed kills are known to destroy fisheries. I fished a T there last year and caught a few over 4lbs, the water looked like crap and the fish didn't look extremely healthy either. It's a shame because that place used to be a great fishery.

fished there in 2011 and i think and it was right after the weed kill. the water looked terrible and polluted. people still caught them but i don't remember any sores on the fish. from what i remember, it was a day after they dumped chemicals in though.

After taking a closer look at these fish, I can see a few black sores. Maybe its gotten worse?

That top fish was a very light 5 and the other a mid 4 that should have been a 6 haha. Fish this year from there have looked super unhealthy.

I've seen similar sores and really red/torn and swollen lips on a few largemouth I caught in a pond connected to the muddy river in boston. It did look like it was afflicted with something...maybe a virus?

there are actually bass in leverett?

I would assume there are bass throughout the Muddy River system since it connects Jamaica Pond to the Charles.

Those big red sores could be from some sort of eel look up what a lamprey bite looks like then compare it to the big red sores I think you will be surprised at the similarities in have fished a few ponds with some fish with those sores .

yup, I also have caught fish like that this year, most of the spots are either at the tail or right behind the gills

Looks like red sores disease. Definitely not LMBV.
