Weed kills are known to destroy fisheries. I fished a T there last year and caught a few over 4lbs, the water looked like crap and the fish didn't look extremely healthy either. It's a shame because that place used to be a great fishery.
fished there in 2011 and i think and it was right after the weed kill. the water looked terrible and polluted. people still caught them but i don't remember any sores on the fish. from what i remember, it was a day after they dumped chemicals in though.
I've seen similar sores and really red/torn and swollen lips on a few largemouth I caught in a pond connected to the muddy river in boston. It did look like it was afflicted with something...maybe a virus?
Those big red sores could be from some sort of eel look up what a lamprey bite looks like then compare it to the big red sores I think you will be surprised at the similarities in have fished a few ponds with some fish with those sores .
